Hey Eagles! My name is Maria Aispuro and I’m very excited to be your VP Social for the 2023-2024 academic year. Along with your Director Social, Tiarah McIntyre, we will be planning events throughout the year that will allow everyone to bond with each other and have a good time. Our goal as the Social Department is to bring New College closer together and strengthen relationships between NCC and our constituents.
Social events will be a great opportunity to meet new people and hang out with your friends from York outside of the school environment, with fun activities and trips to Niagara, Montreal, Blue Mountain, and so on, there will definitely be something for everyone.
Social events will also provide the opportunity to meet people from other colleges within York University, and while school is important and can get stressful sometimes, it is also important to slow down and enjoy your university journey.
To top it all off, we will have a formal at the end of the academic year in order to celebrate the achievements of New College and its constituents, the only way to end the year off right!

2020/21 LINEUP
Netflix Party's are always a great way to bond over watching an interesting film. Constituents got to have some laughs in the comfort of their home and win giftcards for attending.
To celebrate Halloween we collaborated with Schulich to host a murder mystery. Students were divided into teams to solve a murder case and won prizes.
Among Us was as a popular game last year and its even better when you play with your friends. So for the month of November we ran Among Us Wednesdays to see who really is sus and did prize raffles for attendees.
Jeopardy was another popular event for our Eagles. We asked many brain twisting questions from various categories to see who can get the grand prize and call themselves a winner.
During your time here at York, you will always get the chance to meet new people. So we collaborated with Bethune and Vanier College for Valentine's Day to match you with students across thee college with who you are most compatible with.
Although we were not able to host our annual formal due to Covid we still wanted to acknowledge and congratulate our outstanding Eagles and Council members. Along with saying farewell to 2020 graduates.
2019/20 LINEUP
Welcome Week is held
the week after frosh to greet both old and new eagles joining York U for the year. Majority of the events are free and we end off the week with our annual college wide 601 Club Night.
If you are apart of the Eagles Nest, chances are you play foosball 24/7. Our foosball table in Atkinson Room 107 is never left alone. Our Foosball Tourney is a chance to see which Eagle is the one to beat.
Pond Carnival is one of our collaboration events with our affiliated residence at York, Pond Res. Here we hosted our NC tradition Pie the Council along with many carnival games and treats.
Off Campus events are always a hit and this time we went to Pursuit OCR with Mclaughlin College. It's a great chance meet students from other colleges and have a fun while you’re at it.
Tropical Night was one of our pub nights held at The Ab on Campus with Stong College. The Ab is one of the many places students can hangout in their spare time.
Halloween Week is filled with free events at our Lounge (Atkinson Rm 107). This is all to hype everyone up for Halloween weekend and our MTL trip.
NC Takes MTL is one of our biggest events of the year. We provide a 2 night stay at a hotel, coach bus transportation, and line by-passes for a club each night. It a great time to make memories while at York.
Movember Foundation raise's awareness for men's health issues. As a College every year we raise money to support the cause and this past year we did a Waxing Fundraiser where we waxed and shaved the men in our College.
NC Takes over the Falls was a first for our College. We provide a 2 night stay at a hotel, with coach bus transportation. Students went to the waterparks, clubs, casinos, and walked by the falls while making memories that will last a lifetime.
NCx Formal
In 2019 we held our annual year end formal. This was our 10th Anniversary as a College at York. To celebrate we hosted NCx Black and White Formal on March 5, 2020 at the Venetian Banquet Hall & Hospitality Centre. It was an amazing night filled with memories and awards for our outstanding constituents and NCC members.
