Hello Eagles! My name is Kevin Asiedu and I am very honoured to be your VP Athletics for the 2022-2023 academic school year, along with your Director Athletics Shivam Singla. We are extremely excited to offer a variety of online and on-campus events that will give every student the opportunity to stay active, meet new friends, and try new sports or online games. As the athletic representatives of New College, our goal is to promote inclusivity through the power of sports, and ensure every student's year is fun and memorable.
Intramural sports give students the opportunity to enjoy their favourite recreational sports, try new ones, or even get involved in E-sports. Students are able to create their own teams and compete against other colleges, earning Torch points along the way. These points go towards each college, earning them a chance to win the ultimate prize, The Torch, at the end of each academic year.
Players are given many opportunities to win prizes and awards throughout the year and you can win prizes at events. York also hosts an Intramural Banquet at the end of each year to show their gratitude to each and every player, as well as to acknowledge those who excelled throughout the year. New College is known for excelling in a variety of different sports such as Broomball, Ultimate Frisbee, Outdoor Soccer, and Floor Hockey. We really hope to continue this legacy for years to come!
We hope to have an amazing year and make your experience as memorable as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to message either one of us via Instagram @newcollegeathletics_ or email at email@example.com . Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be your athletic representatives, we promise you'll have fun!
